Overview
The Grove is a personal life operating system built and operated by Chris Shanku. It integrates personal productivity surfaces - email, calendar, contacts, notes, tasks, and co-parenting communication - into a single dashboard at thegrove.pro. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information when you use The Grove, including data accessed through connected Google accounts.
Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Account information: Name, email address, and phone number provided during registration.
- Google account data: When you connect a Google account, we access Gmail messages, Google Calendar events, Google Contacts, and Google Drive files via the scopes you authorize on the OAuth consent screen. See "Google User Data" below.
- Co-parenting data: Child behavioral observations, custody schedule information, and communication logs entered by co-parents.
- Usage data: Basic interaction data to maintain and improve the service.
Google User Data
The Grove's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
We access Google user data only to provide user-facing features:
- Gmail: read message metadata and content to power the unified inbox, contact enrichment, and drafting features; send messages on your behalf when you explicitly take a send action.
- Calendar: read events to power the dashboard, morning digest, and meeting prep; create or modify events only on explicit user action.
- Contacts: read contact records to enrich the people directory inside The Grove.
- Drive: read documents you reference within The Grove (e.g., linked notes, attachments).
We do not use Google user data to train generalized AI models, to serve advertising, or for any purpose other than providing the user-facing features above. Google user data is not transferred to third parties except as required to provide or improve user-facing features, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets with notice to affected users. No humans read your Google user data except (a) you, (b) with your explicit consent, (c) for security purposes such as investigating abuse, or (d) to comply with applicable law.
