Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 11, 2026

Overview

The Grove is a personal life operating system built and operated by Chris Shanku. It integrates personal productivity surfaces - email, calendar, contacts, notes, tasks, and co-parenting communication - into a single dashboard at thegrove.pro. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information when you use The Grove, including data accessed through connected Google accounts.

Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

Google User Data

The Grove's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

We access Google user data only to provide user-facing features:

We do not use Google user data to train generalized AI models, to serve advertising, or for any purpose other than providing the user-facing features above. Google user data is not transferred to third parties except as required to provide or improve user-facing features, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets with notice to affected users. No humans read your Google user data except (a) you, (b) with your explicit consent, (c) for security purposes such as investigating abuse, or (d) to comply with applicable law.

How We Use Your Information

Your information is used to:

SMS Messaging

The Grove sends SMS messages to registered co-parents. These messages include weekly digests of child observations and occasional co-parenting reminders.

Data Storage and Security

All data is encrypted at rest and hosted on private infrastructure. We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction.

Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information. Co-parenting data is shared only between registered co-parents within the same co-parenting group. SMS messages are delivered through our messaging provider (Twilio) solely for the purpose of message delivery. Google user data is handled under the Limited Use terms described above and is not shared with third parties except as required to provide user-facing features or comply with applicable law.

Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
